Artifacts are a unique and exciting feature in Gold Fever, adding an extra layer of excitement and discovery to the mining experience. These rare items, each with their own story and significance, can be discovered while processing gravel at Mining Claims.
Overview
Artifacts represent fossil or amber traps mini treasures that players can uncover as they mine for gold. They come in various rarities - Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Each rarity carries its own value and backstory. The process of finding these artifacts is tied directly to your activity within Mining Claims, making it both rewarding and unpredictable.
How It Works
To find Artifacts, players must first register for a Mining Claim and begin processing gravel using gold tools. As you process gravel, there's a small chance that an Artifact will drop. This chance depends on several factors:
Mining Claim Type: Different types of claims offer varying probabilities and tiers of artifact drops.
Amount of Gravel Processed: The more gravel you process, the higher your chances of discovering an artifact. However, this value resets whenever you re-enter a Mining Claim.
Regions and Unique Drops
There are two regions: Coastal and Inland, each offering distinct sets of Artifacts. Players should explore both regions to complete their collection.
Rarity Tiers
Artifacts are categorized by rarity, which determines their desirability and potential uses in-game. Below is a breakdown of the rarity system:
Common:
Uncommon:
Rare:
Epic:
Legendary:
Drop Rates Based on Claim Type
The type of Mining Claim significantly impacts your odds of finding Artifacts. Hereโs how the drop rates work for each claim type:
Claim Type
Rarity Distribution
Artifact Drop Chance
Poor
Common (70%), Uncommon (30%)
+10% every 100 kg processed
Standard
Uncommon (70%), Rare (30%)
+10% every 200 kg processed
Rich
Rare (70%), Epic (30%)
+10% every 300 kg processed
Legendary
Epic (70%), Legendary (30%)
+5% every 250 kg processed
For example:
On a Poor Claim, after processing 100 kilograms of gravel, you gain a 10% chance of receiving an Artifact. After 200 kilograms, your total chance increases to 20%, and so forth.
On a Legendary Claim, due to the lower base rate, it takes longer to build up your chances, but the rewards include some of the most desired artifacts in the game.
Tips for Maximizing Artifact Finds
Choose Your Claim Wisely: If you're aiming for high-tier artifacts, investing in a Rich or Legendary Claim is essential.
Process Large Quantities of Gravel: Since the drop chance scales with the amount of gravel processed, spending extended periods mining can greatly improve your odds. Using a Rocker Box is much more efficient.
Focus on Specific Regions: Decide whether you want Coastal or Inland artifacts and stick to mining claims in those regions to maximize your chances of obtaining region-specific items.
Artifacts role within the game will be linked to obtaining the unobtainable NFTs like assault weapons, backpacks and more.
